Get your products on

retail shelves!

your product here

Some products are just everywhere. You see them in stores, online and in your friends’ homes. How do they do it? What do brands like PF Candle and W&P Design know that you don’t?

And how would your life change if your products made it to the shelves of the shop down the street or a national retail giant, too?

about this course

Hi, I’m Torrance.

I teach product businesses how to grow, scale and land the partnerships of their dreams.

Think about a product you see everywhere.

You know the one. It shows up in the boutique down the street; you see it while flipping through the latest CB2 catalog you got in the mail; you find it on your friend’s bookshelf or maybe in their pantry.

How can one product be everywhere all at once?

And how the heck did it get there?

I’m here to teach you!

Meet Kristen.

co-founder of PF Candle Co.
(and one of the Rocking Retail instructors!)

When she was 12 years old, Kristen began making candles in her family’s kitchen using a kit from a home ec fair she “inherited” from her older sister. It might not have been glamorous at the time, but it was the start of a lifelong passion project. Fast forward to 2008: Kristen was working in publishing in New York city. When the global recession hit, she lost her job and her big-city-lifestyle. But even a recession wasn’t enough to stifle her passion– instead, it fueled it.

Faced with an unexpected fork in the road, Kristen decided to move across the country, go all-in on her childhood hobby and open an Etsy shop to sell her candles.

A few years later, one big order changed Kristen’s life forever.

West Elm came calling. The aspirational retail chain wanted to purchase Kristen’s product. They wanted to add the exact candles she had been making in her kitchen for all those years to their product lineup!

It was Kristen’s first large, national order. And that single order set her business-with-humble-beginnings on a whole new trajectory, resulting in securing a new business partnership (with her husband!) and a new warehouse (today, their warehouse is 22,000 square feet!).

That single order was also just the beginning

Take a look at where you’ll find PF candles stocked today:

You can do this, too!

So many product-based business owners dream of seeing their products on such lofty shelves. But getting a product into a retail store (and keeping it there!) is no easy feat. You already know that. Am I right?!
And what makes it even tougher is that there’s SO MUCH conflicting advice out there about how to land your products on shelves.

How many times have you heard:

“Getting into retail is everything!” vs. “No way! Stores don’t matter. You should stick to Faire!”

“Trade shows are where it’s at!” vs. “Have you been living under a rock? Covid killed trade shows!”

“Facebook ads are the only way to sell your product.” vs. “The iOS updates are killing ads. Don’t waste your money.”

“Only pitch your products via email.” “No, pick up the phone.” “Actually, showing up in person is most effective.”

“Start small; don’t pitch to the big leagues until you know you’ve got a winner.” vs. “Go big! What do you have to lose! You need to be constantly pitching to big retailers.”

Ready to clear up the mystery about how to get your products into retail once and for all?!

In my six years as a seller and a buyer I’ve heard it all and seen it all. But the truth is, there is no silver bullet when it comes to getting your products into stores.

Through my own experience and talking to so many other business owners, there’s one thing that is consistent: one big order (think 1000 cases big!) from a retailer can change everything.

How would your life be different if you secured
even just one large retail deal?

What if, instead of routinely burning the midnight oil selling one $20 product at a time to many, many different customers, you could sell 10,000 units in one fell swoop to just ONE store or national chain?

^^^ Yep! That's just one order! ^^^

With just one large order you could:

You already have a great product. And you KNOW you have a good story to tell.

You’re just looking for the real scripts and real tactics that the best-in-the-business are using, to get you over the hump and on your way to landing your dream partnership and that life-changing order.

That’s where I come in!

Over the past six years, as the founder of Teak & Twine, I’ve been a buyer and a seller. I’ve navigated the winding path to securing big-partnerships and getting my products in large national retailers, like Anthropologie. And as the owner of a gift box business, I’ve had the unique experience of receiving hundreds of pitches from product-based-business owners just like you! But would you believe that less than 5% of the pitches we receive make it onto our shelves?! I know what I’m looking for, I know what other buyers are looking for, and I can tell you the fastest way to get deleted from our inbox. 😉

One day as I was reading a pitch and face-palming after seeing a mistake I’d seen at least 50 times before, I said to my team, “Someone should really make a course that teaches product-based businesses how to create better pitches.” My team looked at me and said, “Do it!”

As a business-owner, I’ve also spent countless hours talking to CEOs, founders, marketing directors and buyers about how they grew their businesses from their kitchen tables to multi-million dollar enterprises and what they wish they had learned sooner.

Now, I’m here to bring everything together and teach you exactly how to land the retail partnerships of your dreams.

If you’ve only just launched your product business;

If you’re still shaky on the lingo
(POs, MOQs; B2B; MSRP– I’ve got you covered!);

If you’ve been wholesaling for a while and your products have already hit the shelves of the shop down the street…

You’re in the right place!

Get the strategies and scripts you need to get your products on shelves.

FAQs

Q:

I’m just getting my business up and running. Should I take this course now or wait until I have a little more experience under my belt?

A:

Please take it now! I’d hate for you to spend the next several years fighting for orders of one of your products at a time and burn yourself out in the process, when getting your products into even just one retail store could yield much less stressful and more profitable results! Worse, I don’t want you to spin your wheels trying to get into stores, struggling because your website isn’t converting, you don’t have a line sheet or you’re simply not pitching your products to the right people. We’ve included all this and more, so you can start your journey equipped with all the best tools!

Q:

Some stores already sell my product. Is this course still right for me?

A:

Absolutely! Would you like more stores to carry your product? Or what if you signed a deal with one much bigger, national chain that was worth more than all of your current retail orders combined? This course is for product businesses at all stages who are looking to up their retail game!

Q:

I don’t know anyone at a big retailer. Isn’t that a prerequisite for getting my products into a store.

A:

Nope! This course will teach you who to reach out to and exactly how to do it. No experience or big-city connections required!

Q:

My branding and packaging need help. Is this course going to teach me how to create a product?

A:

Branding and packaging is super important, but Rocking Retail will only touch on these topics as they relate to wholesaling your products and getting them into retail stores. If you’re looking to learn solely about product development, this course probably isn’t right for you. But if you want to land a life-changing retail partnership, you’re in the right place!

Q:

Instagram, Pinterest, email… there are so many marketing strategies to choose from! Is this course giong to to teach me the ins and outs of how to market my product?

A:

You’re right! There are tons of options when it comes to product marketing– it could be a whole course in itself! Rocking Retail will teach you how to get your products in front of buyers and onto retail shelves, but it doesn’t dive deep into marketing.

Q:

The thought of cold outreach makes me feel really uncomfortable– like I’m being a sleazy salesperson. Am I going to have to make lots of cold phone calls to get my products into stores?

A:

Getting comfortable with pitching your products to new people is part of the game. But I’ll teach you how to do it in a way that feels natural and achievable! You’ll even get an exact script to make those first pitch emails way less nerve-wracking for you and way more engaging for buyers.

Q:

What if I take this course, but I already know everything you’re teaching?

A:

I’m prettttty sure you’re going to find some valuable lessons in this course that you won’t get anywhere else. But if you don’t, you’ll have 30 days to request a refund. No questions asked!

Q:

My business is still finding its footing. Is there a payment plan?

A:

Yes! The course is $1197, and you can pay in four installments of $299.25 or 12 installments of $99.75— either way, there’s no markup for the payment plan! Landing just ONE retail partnership will easily pay for this course… ten times over. If you take the course and you’re not 100% sure that you’ll get your return on investment- get in touch within 30 days of purchase for a full refund.

what people are saying

If you’re on the fence, I just want to share that since meeting Torrance 1.5 years ago and implementing just her FREE tips, I have almost doubled my business and had my first 6 figure year in 2019. This year, I have signed up for every course because she knows what she’s talking about and her intention and enthusiasm are contagious! I wish I had this when I was first starting!

My Guarantee

I know choosing to participate in this course is a big investment. It’s not a decision you’ll make lightly, and I want to honor that! If you dive into Rocking Retail and don’t LOVE it, I will refund you 100%. Here’s why: I’ve been building this course for years. I’ve received hundreds of pitches from product businesses hoping to land their products in my business.

And on the flip side, I’ve taken my own products from my guest room to the shelves of national retailers, like Anthropologie. This course is full of what works.

Plus, I’ve included lessons from interviews with the best in the business when it comes to product development and large scale partnerships. People like Jessica Morelli, the founder of Palermo Body and Eric Prum, co-founder of W&P Design, who are truly masters of their crafts. They’ve shared insights from their years and years of experience that you just won’t hear anywhere else.

It’s safe to say this course has been a passion project for me, and I can’t wait to celebrate right alongside you when you land that first big retail partnership. I’m so confident that if you apply what you learn in Rocking Retail (it only works if you put the work in, too!), you will take your wholesale game to a whole new level.

And if you don’t love the course, the offer remains: I’ll give you 100% of your money back within the first 30 days after purchase. You have nothing to lose, so let’s do this!
